Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia’s eldest son, Alexander, celebrates his 2nd birthday on 19 April 2018.

The Swedish Royal Court has released two new photos to mark this little prince’s milestone.

A 21-gun salute was fired after Prince Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil, Duke of Södermanland, was born at 6:25 pm at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm.

His proud grandfather, King Carl XVI Gustaf, announced the little prince’s name and title two days later at a cabinet meeting.

Prince Alexander was christened in the Royal Chapel at Drottningholm Palace on 9 September 2016.

At the moment, Prince Alexander is fifth in the line of succession to the Swedish throne.

His younger brother Prince Gabriel was born a year later on 31 August 2017.
