VJ Day, 15 August
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will be attending the 70th Anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan) commemorations in Central London on Saturday, 15 August 2015.
Thousands are expected to watch these events.
They will join veterans, former prisoner of war and civilian internees at a service held at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will also be attending commemorative events with senior politicians, military personnel, veterans and their families.
Other VJ Day events include a Parade, wreath-laying ceremonies, a reception at Westminster Abbey and a fly-past of vintage aircraft.
