Princess Isabella celebrates her 10th birthday on Friday, 21 April 2017.

The Danish Royal Court has released three new photos to mark the occasion.

Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe, Princess of Denmark, Countess of Monpezat, was born on 21 April 2007 at Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital). She is the eldest daughter and second child of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary.

She was named Isabella after her ancestress, former Queen consort Isabella of Austria, Henrietta after Crown Princess Mary’s mother Henrietta Donaldson who died from a heart condition in 1997, Ingrid after her paternal great-grandmother Queen Ingrid of Sweden, and Margrethe after her paternal grandmother the Queen.

A 21-gun salute was fired from the Sixtus Battery at Holmen Naval Base in Copenhagen and from Kronborg Castle in North Zealand to mark her birth.

Her christening was held on 1 July 2007 in Fredensborg Palace Chapel. Her godparents include Queen Matilde of Belgium and Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark.

Princess Isabella is third in the line of succession to the Danish throne, following her father, and older brother Prince Christian.

She currently attends Tranegårdsskolen, a public state school in Gentofte, with her older brother.

Royal Monagram

Princess Isabella now has her own personal monogram, consisting of her initial “I” with Christian V’s crown placed above it.

Graphic designer Charlotte Søeborg Ohlsen, with artistic assistance from lecturer Steen Ejlers, designed the monogram.
