Prince Nicholas Paul Gustaf, Duke of Ångermanland, made his arrival on 15 June 2015, two days after his uncle, Prince Carl Philip married Sofia Hellquivst in a lavish ceremony in Stockholm.

The little prince was born at Danderyd Hospital, the second child of Princess Madeleine and her husband Christopher O’Neill, and was greeted with a 21-gun salute from Skeppsholmen in Stockholm.

Prince Nicolas is now eighth in the line of succession to the Swedish throne, following his older sister Princess Leonore, his aunt Crown Princess Victoria, his uncle Prince Carl Philip and his three cousins, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar and Prince Alexander.

He was christened into the Lutheran faith at the Royal Chapel at Drottningholm Palace on 11 October 2015, with his uncle Prince Carl Philip as one of his godparents.

His grandfather King Carl XVI Gustaf presented Prince Nicolas with the Order of the Seraphim at the end of his baptism service.

The Swedish Royal Court has released two new photos, which were taken at Princess Madeleine’s residence in Stockholm, to mark this milestone.

His older sister Leonore celebrated her 3rd birthday earlier this year on 20 February 2017.
