The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry talk openly about their mother, Diana Princess of Wales, in a new documentary which will air on ITV in the United Kingdom later this year.

The documentary, Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, celebrates the life and work of Diana Princess of Wales 20 years after her tragic death in a car crash in Paris on 31 August 1997.

ITV aired the promo on Saturday, 8 July 2017, with Prince William and Prince Harry saying this is the first time they have ever spoken about Diana as their mother as they look through a private family album.

ITV’s Head of Factual Entertainment Controller Jo Clinton-Davis said, “This new ITV film will offer a new and revealing insight into Princess Diana through the personal and intimate reflections of her two sons and of her friends and family, many of whom have never spoken before, to bring together a definitive portrait of a unique person who touched the lives of millions.

Oxford Film and Television, producers of the documentary, Our Queen at 90, made Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.

Executive Producer at Oxford Film and Television Nick Kent said, “This film will show Princess Diana in a way she has never been seen before, through the eyes of the two people who knew her best.”

Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy will air on ITV (Britain) on Monday, 24 July, at 9.00 pm and HBO (USA) at 10.00 pm.

It will air on Seven Network Australia on Sunday, 30 July, at 7.00 pm (Sunday Night).

• Germany – ARD on Monday, 21 August – time TBA.
