Meghan was wearing an extravagant sheer black ball gown, created by British designer Ralph & Russo, which cost 56,000 pounds (roughly A$97,000).

In another photo, Meghan was also wearing a classic crewneck sweater from Victoria Beckham’s collection, costing £690 (about A$1,200).

Prince Harry and Ms Markle have been touched by all of the messages of congratulations they have received, and hope that everybody enjoys these photographs as much as they do.

Windsor is said to be a special place for the newly-engaged couple as they regularly spent time there during their 16-month relationship.

Ms Markle accompanied Prince Harry to the Queen’s pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, 20 December 2017.

Traditionally only members of the extended royal family and their spouses are invited, showing how quickly Meghan has been quickly accepted ahead of the wedding next year.

She is the first royal fiancee to be invited to spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth II at Sandringham. Kate Middleton and Lady Diana Spencer did not attend until they had both married into the Royal Family.
