Princess Danica and her newborn son Prince Stephan have left the hospital and arrived home at the Royal Palace in Dedinje, Belgrade on 2 March 2018.
Crown Prince Alexander posted a message on Facebook, translated as, ‘Stefan, Welcome home!’
Prince Stefan was born on Sunday, 25 February 2018 at 10.30 am (local time) at the maternity hospital in Belgrade.
The Royal Palace Belgrade has released the first photo of Prince Stefan with his proud parents, Prince Philip and Princess Danica, with their son.
Photos were also taken with other members of the Serbian Royal Family, Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, Princess Maria da Glória of Orléans-Braganza Duchess of Segorbe, and Princess Danica’s parents Mr Cile and Mrs Beba Marinkovic.
The 49 bells of Belgrade’s biggest Orthodox temple St Sava Church rang out for the first time with the blessing of Patriarch Irinej, to mark this very special occasion – a first in history.
This is the first birth of a prince in Serbia’s Royal Family for 90 years, as King Peter II’s younger brother, Prince Tomislav’s was born on 19 January 1928.
According to a statement, ‘Prince Philip and Princess Danica warmly thank everyone for their congratulations, as well as to media who covered this beautiful event in the most positive way in public.’
