Prince Louis Arthur Charles was born on 23 April 2018 at 11.01 am, weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces (3.83 kilograms) in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London.

The commemorative stamp features the proud parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, standing on the steps of St Mary’s Hospital as they introduced their third child to the world.

The stamp has a similar design for those used to commemorate Prince Louis’ older siblings Prince George in 2013 and Prince Charlotte in 2015.

Prince Louis’ birth was announced by a town crier outside the hospital and, later that day, the official declaration was placed on an easel outside Buckingham Palace.

Australia Post Philatelic Manager Michael Zsolt said, ‘Australia Post is thrilled to celebrate the birth of a baby boy to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and a new brother to his two older siblings.’

‘We have a proud history of honouring the royal family and we expect this new stamp will be well received by collectors and followers of special events.’

Prince Louis is fifth in the line to the British throne, following his grandfather Prince Charles; his father Prince William; his brother Prince George and sister Princess Charlotte.

The stamp is available from Tuesday, 3 July 2018, at participating Post Offices, via mail order on 1800 331-794 and online at auspost.com.au/stamps whilst stocks last.
