The Dutch Royal Family posed for their annual photo session on Friday afternoon, on 13 July 2018, at the Villa Eikenhorst in Wassenaar.

Villa Eikenhorst, which is located on the De Torsten Royal Estates in Wassenaar, is King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima’s residence.

Architect Baron J B van Asbeck built Villa Eikenhorst for Queen Beatrix’s youngest sister between 1985 to 1987.

A 17th-Century farmhouse was the inspiration for Villa Eikenhorst. It had the same name and once stood not far from the present villa’s site.

Princess Christina’s family lived at Villa Eikenhorst until 1996, following her divorce, so she moved to the United States.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima moved into Eikenhorst in 2003, following renovations and have lived there ever since.
