Princess Madeleine has released a new photo as her son Prince Nicolas celebrates his 4th Birthday on Saturday, 15 June 2019.

He arrived two days after his uncle Prince Carl Philip married Sofia Hellqvist in 2015, and is currently ninth in the line of succession to the Swedish throne.

His birth was marked with a 21-gun salute from Skeppsholmen and also in Gothenburg, Härnösand, Karlskrona and Boden.

King Carl XVI Gustaf bestowed the title of Duke of Ångermanland two days after he was born.

He is the second child and only son of Princess Madeline and Christopher O’Neill, with an older sister, Leonore, and younger sister Adrienne.
