Denmark’s Crown Prince Couple’s children have started their first day at school in Switzerland on Monday, 6 January 2020.

Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine started a 12-week school break at the Lemania-Verbier International School.

Crown Princess Mary will stay with the children in Switzerland, with Crown Prince Frederik joining the family whenever possible in between carrying out official duties both in Denmark and abroad.

The aim is to give the four children ‘a common experience in an international environment.’

The four royal children will resume their classes at Tranegårdskolen in Gentofte in their current years upon their return to Denmark.

During the period, the Crown Prince will primarily stay with the children in Switzerland, and the Crown Prince will be with the family to the extent permitted by the Crown Prince’s official obligations.

The Crown Prince family posed for photos for both Danish and foreign media to mark this event.

The photocall was arranged with the understanding that the media will not intrude upon the royal children both inside and outside the school.
