Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway celebrated her 16th birthday on Tuesday, 21 January 2020.

The Norwegian Royal Court has released a new photograph of Princess Ingrid Alexandra, taken by Ann Cathrin Buchardt, to mark this special day.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s eldest child, Princess Ingrid Alexandra was born in Rikshospitalet University Hospital in Oslo at 9.13 am on 21 January 2004.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra is currently second in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne.

Norway changed its constitution in 1990 to introduce absolute primogeniture, ensuring the crown passed to the Crown Prince’s eldest child, regardless of gender.

She has a younger brother, Prince Sverre Magnus, who was born on 3 December 2005.
