Queen Elizabeth II became the fourth longest-reigning monarch in world history on Thursday, 12 March 2020 at 68 years and 34 days.

Mayan King Kʼinich Janaabʼ Pakal (or Pacal the Great) of Palenque has been bumped down to 5th place as his reign lasted 68 years and 33 days.

In two years and 92 days, Queen Elizabeth will overtake King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s record as the second longest-reigning monarch.

Queen Elizabeth will become the longest-reigning monarch in four years and 78 days when she overtakes King Louis XIV of France who reigned from 1643, aged five, until his death in 1715!

The Queen overtook her great-great-grandmother Victoria’s record of 63 years and 216 days on 9 September 2015 as Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.
