Two new portraits of Queen Margrethe have been released to mark her 80th Birthday on 16 April 2020.
The Danish Royal Court is releasing a series of photos of Queen Margrethe II at 7.00 am (local time) for three days to mark her 80th Birthday.
Photographer Per Morten Abrahamsen took these two portraits at Fredensborg Palace in September 2019.
Past Official Portraits
Danish monarchs have posed for portraits, mostly in paintings, for centuries.
In recent times, due to modern technology, many portraits have been photographed, mostly for birthdays and other royal anniversaries.
Photographer Rigmor Mydtskov has taken most of Queen Margrethe’s official portrait photographs since her accession to the throne in 1972 until her 60th birthday in 2000.
