The Canadian Government has released new official portraits of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh on Saturday, 17 October 2020.
The latest Official Canadian portrait was taken at Windsor Castle during March 2019.
Queen Elizabeth wears her Canadian insignia, as Sovereign of the Order of Canada and the Order of Military Merit.
The Order of Canada, created by Queen Elizabeth in 1967, is the nation’s highest civilian honour.
The Order of Military Merit recognizes distinctive merit and exceptional service displayed by the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Two official Canadian portraits of Queen Elizabeth, and Prince Philip and the Duke of Edinburgh, were taken during the 2005 Royal Tour of Canada during celebrations marking Saskatchewan and Alberta’s entry into Confederation.
