Queen Margrethe II of Denmark celebrated her 76th Birthday on Saturday, 16 April 2016.
Crowds waited outside Amalienborg to congratulate Queen Margrethe. The Danish Royal Family appeared on the balconies at Christian IX’s Palace, shortly after the Changing of the Guard at 12.00 noon.
Queen Margrethe also appeared with her grandchildren.
Later that evening, Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik attended the last performance of the ballet, Romeo & Juliet, at the Royal Theatre.
