Queen Elizabeth II sends her best wishes and congratulations to Canadians on their 150th anniversary of Confederation.

The message, which was pre-recorded, was delivered in both English and French.

It is possible the Queen recorded this statement at the same time as her Christmas message, as she is seen wearing the same outfit, with the maple leaf brooch.

At this stage, there is no news which members of the Royal Family will visit for Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa. Details will be provided when they become available.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children visited last year, after accepting an invitation from the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.
