Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary proudly participated in a photo call as their youngest children, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, prepare for their first day of school on Tuesday, 15 August 2017.

The photo call was held outside Frederik VIII’s Palace, at Amalienborg, before the school run.

Crown Princess Mary comforted her youngest son who seemed rather nervous. He eventually smiled for the cameras and posed for photos.

On the other hand, Princess Josephine was rather excited and happy to talk to the media.

The Crown Princess told Danish publication BT that the twins, who were very close, will be in separate classes.

Princess Josephine said she was going into to Class A whilst Vincent will go into B.

Crown Prince Frederik added that it was best for the children, as they are each other’s best friend and see each other. They thought it was best they should have some new friends.

Their older brother Christian and sister Isabella attend the same school.

Their cousin, Princess Athena, began Grade 1 at St Joseph Sisteren’s School in Ordrup last Friday, 11 August.

The photocalls were arranged at home to avoid disruptions at their schools and for the other children.
