Princess Beatrice of York made a surprise visit to Australian technology start-up Xceptional on Wednesday, 21 November 2018 at Fishburners Accelerator in Sydney.
Her father, Prince Andrew to Prince Andrew, Duke of York, organised the meeting, after Mike Tozer, founder and CEO of Xceptional, handed a letter for Princess Beatrice to Prince Andrew, Duke of York, earlier this week.
The Duke of York is currently in Sydney for his Pitch@Palace tour for entrepreneurs and supporters at the Opera House and opened Level 10 at Sydney Business School in Macquarie Place.
Mike’s letter included details about the start-up and thought Princess Beatrice might be interested in hearing more details.
Unbeknown to Mike Tozer, Prince Andrew knew his daughter was visiting Sydney and suggested she might pay a visit to find out more details.
Xceptional helps change the lives of people with autism by software to combat unemployment.
It uses an app which uses activity-based assessment games to reduce anxiety which currently prevents 65% of autism sufferers from staying employed.
Many people with autism exhibit the unique traits of detecting patterns in data whilst maintaining superior levels of concentration over extended periods of time, particularly suiting technology and data roles.
The Xceptional app empowers autistic employees by subduing distressing behaviour, enabling employers to see the benefits of neurodiversity and make a positive impact on autism unemployment.
