Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC)

The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada originally began in 1932 when a mining engineer, Walter Segsworth, called a meeting at the King Edward Hotel in Toronto, to fight a proposed Engineers Bill put forward by the Ontario Government. A mining engineer would be required to sign the report after prospectors filled out a work assessment. The bill was never passed.

Their mission is to promote a globally responsible, vibrant and sustainable minerals industry.

The annual PDAC Convention is the world’s premier international event and ahas attracted over 25,000 people from 135 countries.

The PDAC now has over 8,000 members worldwide, including individuals and companies.
