Crown Princess Mary will visit Texas in March 2019 during an official visit to promote Denmark.

The Crown Princess, accompanied by Minister for Culture Mette Bock, will visit Austin and Houston from 10 to 13 March 2019.
In Austin, the Crown Princess will participate in a large campaign to promote cultural and creative industries at the festival South by South West (SXSW).
The South by South West festival is one of the world’s most important for much, technology, film, gastronomy and the arts.
More than 280,000 people visit each year and this year’s festival is said to have a Danish theme, focusing on Nordic values and expertise with innovation and creative industries.
The Crown Princess will visit several Danish initiatives in the House of Scandinavia.
As a guest of honour in Seattle, Crown Princess Mary helped launch the campaign in 2018, as a multi-year push to promote Danish culture in the United States.
Crown Princess, with representatives from other Scandinavian countries, participated in the opening of the Nordic Museum last year.
In Houston, Crown Princess Mary and Mette Bock will be present when Denmark and Danish businesses can show what they can offer to the American market with green energy and life science, including the oil industry in Texas.
Crown Princess Mary will deliver a speech at a conference on green energy and Danish solution to the world’s climate challenges.
Afterwards, Crown Princes Mary will visit the world’s largest hospital, Texas Medical Centre, which employs over 100,000 employees to launch a collaborative effort in life science between Texas and Denmark.
The Crown Princess will open a Danish jewellery exhibition at the Houston Centre for Contemporary Craft, before attending a gala dinner, as the guest of honour, hosted by the Consul General in Houston and the Danish Embassy in Washington DC.
