The Swedish Royal Court has released a new photo, taken by Josefine Persson, shows the little prince sporting a rather cheeky grin.

Prince Carl Philipp and Princess Sofia’s eldest son, Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil, Duke of Södermanland, was born at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm on 19 April 2016, at 6.25 pm.

His birth was celebrated with a 21-gun salute from Skeppsholmen in Stockholm.

On 9 September 2016, Prince Alexander was christened in the Royal Chapel at Drottningholm Palace.

After the service, his grandfather King Carl XVI Gustaf created Prince Alexander a Knight of the Royal Order of the Seraphim.

His younger brother, Prince Gabriel, Duke of Dalarna, was born on 31 August 2017.

Prince Alexander is currently 5th in the line of succession to the Swedish throne, following his aunt and godmother, Crown Princess Victoria, her two children, Estelle and Oscar, ands father.
