The Danish Royal Court has released a new photo, taken by Daniel Stjerne, to mark the occasion.

Mary Elizabeth Donaldson, the youngest daughter of Professor of Applied Mathematics John Dalgleish Donaldson and his wife Henrietta Clark Donaldson, was born in Hobart, Tasmania, in 1972.

Henrietta Clark Donaldson died on 20 November 1997 and her father re-married British author, Susan Elizabeth Horwood) on 5 September 2001.

The Crown Princess has two older sisters and a brother: Jane Alison Stephens (born 26 December 1965), Patricia Anne Bailey (born 16 March 1968), and John Stuart Donaldson (born 9 July 1970).

She met the heir to the Danish throne Crown Prince Frederik at a pub, the Slip Inn, during the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary have four children, Prince Christian Valdemar Henri John (born 15 October 2005), Princess Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe (born 21 April 2007) and twins, Prince Vincent Frederik Minik Alexander and Princess Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda (born 8 January 2011).
