Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle visited Stockholm Cathedral on Monday, 17 February 2020, in the Old Town.
The Stockholm Cathedral has invited Princess Estelle, who will turn 8 on 23 February, to see the great church so Chaplain Ulf Lingred welcomed the Crown Princess and her daughter upon arrival.
According to reports, Crown Princess Victoria wants Princess Estelle to learn more about her heritage and history of the country she may rule someday.
Cathedral organist Mattias Wagner greeted the royal visitors before showing off the magnificent organ and how it works and sounds, including some of Johan Sebastian Bach’s Toccaca and Fugue in D Minor.
Princess Estelle explored the organ’s 3,500 pipes from the smallest (1 centimetre) pipe to the largest which is over 5 metres long.
She also explored inside the mechanics which connect the organ’s three floors and to see what the Gustavian facade looks like from inside.

Princess Estelle even had a go at playing the organ as she tried out different sound effects.
The Cathedral (Storkyrkan) dates back to the 13th Century in the old part of Stockholm and has been used important occasions, including coronations, funerals and royal weddings, ever since.
Crown Princess Victoria married Daniel Westling in the Cathedral on 19 June 2010.
