Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary’s second child and eldest daughter Princess Isabella, Countess of Monpezat, was born at 4.02 pm on 21 April 2007 at Rigshospitalet, the Copenhagen University Hospital, in Copenhagen.

Princess Isabella was the first girl born into the Danish Royal Family since her great-aunt, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece in 1946.

A 21-gun salute was fired from the Sixtus Battery at Holmen Naval Base in Copenhagen and from Kronborg Castle in Helsingør in North Zealand the following day to mark her birth.

She also started a 12-week school break at the Lemania-Verbier International School in Switzerland but it was cut short due to the coronavirus outbreak.
