The Royal Court of Norway announced on Thursday, 19 November 2020, that King Harald V and Queen Sonja have gone into self-imposed home quarantine.

Queen Sonja is now in quarantine after recently coming into contact with someone with coronavirus.

Neither King Harald nor Queen Sonja has any symptoms but 14 employees at the Royal Court are also in quarantine.

Crown Prince Haakon will meet with the President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid during an audience at 10.00 am on Friday, 20 November.

King Harald will chair the Council of Ministers later than morning by telephone from Bygdøy Royal Estate at 11.00 am with Crown Prince Haakon participating.

These quarantine measures are part of government rules and regulations which include staying home, limiting social contact, cleaning surfaces frequently, good hand hygiene, and using face masks to limit the spread of infection.
