Queen Margrethe attended a reception for the Ladies and Gentlemen of the Court on Friday afternoon, 14 January 2022.

The Queen received representatives from her household at Christian IX’s Palace at Amalienborg to formally acknowledge her Golden Jubilee.

However, the event was scaled back due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to current government regulations.

The Lord Chamberlain gave a speech on behalf of the royal household as the Ladies and Gentlemen practised social distancing.

The Court is the Royal Family’s administration and household and currently employs about 130 people who are divided into four royal households.

The Queen and the Crown Prince Couple have the largest households, compared to those of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie as well as Princess Benedikte.
