The Royal Court announced Queen Margrethe was discharged from hospital on Thursday, 2 March 2023.

Queen Margrethe had back surgery in the Rigshospitelet in Copenhagen which was a success last week.

Her medical team is satisfied with Queen Margrethe’s condition and her progress during recovery.

However, Queen Margrethe will undergo long physical rehabilitation, which may last for a few months.

Crown Prince Frederik will continue acting as Regent during his mother’s recovery.

In a statement from the Danish Royal Court, Queen Margrethe has expressed her gratitude towards the professional and good treatment she received whilst in hospital.

Queen Margrethe is currently residing at Amalienborg.
