King Carl XVI Gustaf makes history as he becomes Sweden’s longest-reigning monarch on Thursday, 26 April 2018
The Earl and Countess of Wessex visit Sri Lanka, two royal octogenarians celebrate birthdays, Charles I: King and Collector exhibition and the Swedish Royal Family commemorate 200 years of Bernadotte rule.
The founder of Sweden’s Bernadotte dynasty was born on 26 January 1763 and ruled as Carl XIV Johan and as Carl III Johan of Norway, from 1818 until his death in 1844.
An exhibition featuring five Royal wedding dresses will be on show to commemorate King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia's 40th Wedding Anniversary.
King Carl Gustaf's 70th Birthday was celebrated in style in Stockholm on 30 April 2016.
