Proud parents Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel accompanied their daughter, Estelle, for her first day of school in Stockholm on Tuesday, 21 August 2018.
After a photo opportunity, older students welcomed Princess Estelle and her new classmates to the school.
Princess Estelle joins the förskoleklass (pre-school) at the exclusive Campus Manilla’s (Manillaskolan) primary school at Djurgården in Stockholm, with about 24 students per class.
High school students accompanied the new students to the playground for a brief assembly, with the Head Teacher giving a speech and singing the national anthem.
Manillaskolan’s primary school has around 500 students from Sweden’s richest families.
The school year in Sweden begins in mid-August and finishes at the beginning of June.
Princess Estelle is the first member of the Swedish Royal Family to attend Campus Manilla, as it is a new school founded in 2013 by property magnate Knute Pousette.
Crown Princess Victoria started school at the state-funded school, Smedslättskolan, which was a ten-minute drive from her home at Drottningholm Palace.
