Denmark’s Crown Prince Family send their Christmas Greetings from Christianborg Palace on Thursday, 12 December 2019.

Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and their four children decorate a large Christmas tree in the Royal Stables, after patting and feeding some of the horses.

The video features ‘Deck the Halls’ by composer, singer-songwriter, and pianist, Lana Janjanin from her SCDV 612 album as background music.

However, the Crown Prince Family will join Queen Margrethe II for their annual family Christmas at Marselisborg Palace, when she takes up residence from 20 December 2019.

Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and their two children, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena will also participate in the festivities.

Queen Margrethe started the annual tradition upon her accession in 1972.

Christianborg Palace

The Royal Stables (De Kongelige Stalde) was built in 1740 and currently houses 11 white horses which are mainly used for official events, including state visits, New Year’s Levees, ambassador receptions, summer trips and birthdays.
