Queen Elizabeth II has recorded a special televised address at Windsor Castle to the UK and the Commonwealth in relation to the coronavirus.
The Queen’s address will air on Sunday, 5 April 2020, at 8.00 pm (BST), on television and radio as well the Royal Family’s official social media channels.
Australians can watch the Queen’s address online on Monday, 6 April at 5.00 am AEST in Australia.
Changes To The Queen’s Programme
Queen Elizabeth left Buckingham Palace for Windsor Castle earlier than first planned, and released a message, upon arrival, reassuring the people of the UK at such an uncertain time.
Many official engagements have been cancelled or postponed to ensure public safety.
Special events including Trooping the Colour, the 75th anniversary of VE Day and Emperor and Empress of Japan’s State Visit were also cancelled or have been postponed.
The Queen continues to receive her daily red boxes which contain government and Royal Household papers for her to review and sign.
However, The Queen’s Audience with The Prime Minister now takes place by telephone, rather than in person.
