Celebrations were originally scheduled to take place in Maastricht place this year but everyone is encouraged to ‘celebrate orange’ – the nation’s national colour at home!

This year, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and their three daughters, will celebrate Koningdag (King’s Day) at their home at Huis ten Bosch on Monday, 27 April 2020.

However, people can participate through the www.koningsdagthuis.nl link by registering for Livestream or video, or the Dutch Royal Family’s social media channels.

King Willem-Alexander will deliver a short message around 10.00 am with celebrations broadcasted live on television and on social media.

Koningdag finishes at 4.00 pm by raising a glass to the King during the National Toast.
