SBS Australia will be screening the Norwegian film, The King’s Choice, on Monday, 6 July 2020, at 7.30 pm on their World Movies Channel.

The King’s Choice (original title Kongens Nei) is based on extraordinary historical events when the Germans invaded Norway during World War II and King Haakon VII (Jesper Christensen) is faced with a terrible choice.

The present King, Harald V, (played by Magnus Ketilsson Dobbe) only three years old when these dramatic events unfolded.

Kongens Nei was Norway’s official submission for the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ category for the Academy Awards in 2017 and premiered in Australian cinemas on 24 August 2017

King Harald and Queen Sonja invited the public to attend the pre-premiere in the Royal Palace Park in Oslo on 21 September 2016 at 8.00 pm.
