Crown Prince Haakon will chair the cabinet, after an audience with Prime Minister Erna Solberg at the Royal Palace, as his father takes sick leave.

The King was admitted for ‘heavy breathing’ and currently undergoing tests, but he does not have the coronavirus.

Crown Prince Haakon will act as regent during this time.

However, King Harald, aged 83, was admitted to Rikshospitalet in Oslo in January 2020 due to dizziness.

Yesterday, King Harald thanked the crew during a final inspection aboard the Royal Yacht, Norge, during the summer months, before disembarking.
