The day coincides with the fourth Advent Sunday, as Crown Prince Frederik lights all four candles.

The Crown Prince Family have been in home quarantine after Prince Christian tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) on Monday, 7 December 2020, for one week, even though he had no symptoms.

The Crown Prince Couple and their three younger children’s tests were negative.

English Translation

Today we light the last candle in the Advent wreath because it is the fourth Sunday in Advent. It will be a different Christmas this year. Many of us can not celebrate Christmas Eve with those we tend to be with. No matter how we celebrate it, I hope you will find joy in the days to come, take care of each other and remember that we are soon moving towards brighter times. My family and I would like to send together with the warmest Christmas greetings to all.

Merry Christmas!
