Kensington Palace has released a new photo of the Duchess of Cambridge on social media to mark her 39th birthday.

Catherine ‘Kate’ Elizabeth Middleton was born on 9 January 1982 at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, the eldest daughter of Michael and Carole Middleton. She has two younger siblings, Pippa and James.

Thank you for your kind wishes on The Duchess’ birthday.

Birthdays have been very different in recent months, and our thoughts continue to be with all those working on the front line at this hugely challenging time.

She married Prince William, Duke of Cambridge at Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011, and now have three children, George, Charlotte and Louis.

The Duchess has supported many organisations during the past year with the coronavirus pandemic, even carrying out many official engagements via Zoom with the Duke.

The Duke and Duchess have especially thanked key workers and their families for their sacrifices, especially during coronavirus lockdowns.
