The Princess Royal arrived in Australia for a three-day visit on Saturday, 9 April 2022, on Queen Elizabeth’s behalf during her Platinum Jubilee Year.

Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence held a brief audience with Australia’s Governor-General David Hurley and Mrs Hurley at Admiralty House in Sydney.

Governor-General David Hurley and Mrs Hurley welcomed their royal guests to Admiralty House and provided updates about the recent floods and highlighted the remarkable contribution of volunteers and emergency services personnel.

According to the Governor-General, Princess Anne echoed her mother, Her Majesty The Queen’s recent message of support for those affected and involved in the flood response.

Then Princess Anne, as the Patron of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth, attended and officially opened the Sydney Royal Easter Show which is celebrating its Bicentenary in 2022.

She wore a green outfit which was said to be her father’s favourite colour to mark the anniversary of Prince Philip’s passing on 9 April 2021.
