King Harald V was admitted to Rikshospitalet on Monday, 8 May 2023, with an infection.

A statement from the Royal Court said King Harald, aged 86, was diagnosed with an infection that needs treatment.

His Majesty’s condition is stable but he will remain in hospital for a few days.

The King is currently on sick leave.

We wish His Majesty a very speedy recovery.
