Both Denmark and Australia celebrate Mother’s Day every year on the second Sunday in May.
In Denmark, Mother’s Day, known as Mors Dag, began in 1929 to honour mothers by giving gifts or doing something special that day.
Crown Prince Frederik married Australian Mary Donaldson on 14 May 2004 in a splendid wedding ceremony at Copenhagen Cathedral, followed by a lavish reception at Fredensborg Palace.
They have four children, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella and twins Prince Vincent and Princess
The Royal Couple celebrated their 19th Wedding Anniversary as well as Mother’s Day with Crown Prince Frederik posting a photo of Crown Princess Mary and their youngest daughter Princess Josephine enjoying some ice cream, with a message on the Danish Royal Family’s official social media accounts.
Crown Prince Frederik’s Message

English Translation
My wife and I have our wedding anniversary today. A very special day for both of us, as we like to mark – also with our four children.
This year the day coincides with Mother’s Day. Therefore, special love for you, Mary, as a spouse and as a mother.
And at the same time, I would like to say ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ to all the mothers around the whole country.
