Five-year old Princess Athena began Grade 1 at Sct Joseph Sisteren’s Skole in Ordrup on Friday, 11 August 2017.
Prince Joachim and Princess Marie had a photo opportunity with Princess Athena at their home at Emiliekildevej before she left for school.
However, Princess Athena won’t be on her own as her older brother Prince Henrik began attending Sct Joseph Sisteren’s School two years ago.
St Joseph Sistern’s is a private Catholic school which caters for Grades 0 to 9, with approximately 360 students. The Sisters of St Joseph founded the school in 1888.
The school year in Denmark begins during mid-August.
Meanwhile, her cousins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine begin Grade 0 (Kindergarten) at public school Tranegårdskolen in Hellerup on Tuesday 15 August, joining their older siblings Prince Christian and Princess Isabella.
