The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are currently staying at Birkhall whilst their office at Clarence House has reportedly closed down for three months.

Clarence House has released a statement on 18 March 2020 regarding correspondence for the Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Please be aware that due to operating restrictions caused by Coronavirus measures, our capacity to deal with correspondence is currently reduced and our ability to reply to letters and cards will take longer than usual, this applies to correspondence for The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

As a result, we are asking if correspondents would help by considering whether their communication is necessary or whether it might wait until the situation has resolved.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are both over 70 and at risk from catching the coronavirus (COVID-19).

However, Clarence House has released a statement on Wednesday, 25 March 2020, saying Prince Charles tested positive for the coronavirus, with mild symptoms, and will continue to remain in home quarantine in Scotland.
