The Royal Court of Norway announced on Thursday, 28 January 2021, that King Harald has taken sick leave.

King Harald is currently on sick leave until Sunday, 31 January, due to pain in his leg.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince Haakon, acting as Regent, will chair the cabinet on Friday, 29 January.

King Harald and Queen Sonja celebrated 30 years on the throne on 17 January, releasing a video thanking the Norwegian people.
