Buckingham Palace announced on Wednesday, 19 May 2021, that Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expecting their first baby.

The child is due in autumn this year.

The statement also said, ‘The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.’

The child will be the twelfth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and eleventh in the line of succession.

It will be the second grandchild for the Duke and Duchess of York as her sister, Princess Eugenie, gave birth to a son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, on 9 February 2021.
